The DSX Tuning MAF Medic is here to address the three major things that need help when modifying your GM vehicle with a LIN based MAF!
-
Baro Breakout - When subjecting the MAF to boost, baro readings can become massively skewed which throws off a number of routines in the ECM, but we automatically correct this with an onboard sensor and extensive logic to make sure the ECM sees what it needs to see to keep everything happy. An onboard baro sensor means you don't need to plug in an external one!
-
IAT Breakout - Using an external IAT sensor from the MAF is no problem, and this is an on demand feature meaning the device has automated detection of whether or not the IAT sensor is broken out. If an external IAT is not plugged in, it just passes the IAT reading through from the MAF itself. When the device detects an external IAT sensor is plugged in during startup, it sends the sensor data to the ECM instead. If you order without this, you can always add it later by just purchasing the sensor and harness, and then pin it into the connector after removing the two blanking plugs.
-
MAF Frequency Correction - If you've experienced the hard limit of the factory MAF table at 512, then this one is for you. We rescale the MAF output to a traditional relation where frequency increases with airflow as opposed to the factory style where lower frequencies correspond to higher airflows. We also provide a new table with new break points to get you up and running faster. No inadequate code patches required to register all the airflow your setup will make!
Stock replacement calibration tables are available below for various setups. If you don't see your application listed, please contact us. If you have an existing table you want corrected for this device, we can do this for a small fee. Please note the cases for these devices are not water tight to allow the baro sensor access to ambient air. The boards are coated in a water resistant conformal coating, but care should still be taken to keep them dry and away from extreme heat.
